SUMMARY:EGRU Engagement Day 2023
DESCRIPTION:EGRU staff and students invite industry\, government and research colleagues to join them for EGRU’s Engagement Day on Friday 3rd of November. \nThe Engagement Day is an opportunity for EGRU to provide updates on its research and training initiatives\, to hear from our industry and research colleagues\, and to discuss future directions for EGRU’s activities. \nThere will be presentations from EGRU’s industry members and research staff\, and time for informal discussions during lunch and the social event after the presentations.  Presentations will focus on new research\, concepts and technologies that may contribute to future directions in exploration.  A poster display will also provide an overview of recent and current EGRU research projects. \nThis is a free event with lunch and a social hour at the conclusion of the talks. \nEGRU staff and students look forward to catching up with colleagues on the day. \n\nSpeakers include: \n\n\n\nNed  Howard\nEvolution  Mining\nGeochemistry\, Exploration and  Research\n\n\nAndrew  Job\nPlotlogic\nApplications of VNIR/SWIR material characterisation across all stages of the mining life cycle\n\n\nLauren Waszek\nEGRU\, JCU Physical Sciences\nAnalysis of seismic lines using deep Earth methodologies\n\n\nBithin Datta\nJCU Engineering\nModeling\, monitoring and detecting Groundwater flow and contaminant transport at mine sites with possible extension to other mining applications\n\n\nIoan Sanislav\nEGRU\nEGRU research and training update and introducing the Critical Minerals Trailblazer Project\n\n\n\n
