SEG 2025 Field Trip: IOCG, ISCG, and Sediment-Hosted Cu (±Zn-Pb-Ag) Deposits of the Mount Isa Province – North West Queensland

SEG 2025: Pre-Conference Field Trip
This trip will provide a hands-on introduction to the geology of diverse Cu and Cu-Au mineral deposits in the Mount Isa Province through a combination of field and mine site visits and drill core demonstrations. Participants will review mineralization and alteration characteristics of major iron oxide and iron sulfide copper-gold (IOCG and ISCG) deposits of the Cloncurry district in the east of the province—in comparison with sediment-hosted copper deposits in the west.
The field trip will be led by geoscientists from the Geological Survey of Queensland and EGRU.
