There will be a core, hand specimen and poster display at the venue, and an opportunity to visit the Terra Search core yard to view:

  • Intervals of massive sulphide and supergene copper from recent drilling at the Highway Reward copper – gold deposit
  • Intersections of the breccia from the world class Mount Leyshon gold deposit

 

 

Field Trip

The field trip is generously hosted by Sunshine Metals.

The trip will travel to the Liontown Project south of Charters Towers to view:

  • Historic workings, dumps and the remains of the historic battery and furnace.
  • Exposures of feeder style Cu-Au mineralisation and stratiform Pb-Zn mineralisation, and the volcanic footwall and sedimentary hanging wall sequences.

The trip will then travel to the Sunshine Metals core yard in Charters Towers to view a selection of:

  • Liontown diamond drill holes illustrating the stratigraphy and mineralisation styles.
  • Francis Creek diamond drill holes illustrating various epithermal vein textures and mineralisation.

Hat, steel cap boots, long sleeved shirts, long pants
Safety glasses for anyone planning to break rocks
