A Global View on Structural Reactivation and Plate Interactions on the Control of Mineral Deposit Distributions – A talk by Dr Nick Oliver

We invite you to join EGRU staff and students for a talk by former EGRU Director, Nick Oliver.
Nick’s talk will be held at JCU in Townsville on Friday 9 October.
Nick was Professor of Economic Geology at JCU from 1997 to 2010 and then joined HCOV Global as a principal consultant. He has worked on mineral deposits around the world, including gold, iron oxide copper-gold, porphyry, skarn and base-metal systems.
Nick’s research interests and consulting career bridge structural geology, geochemistry and petrology, with a particular focus on understanding hydrothermal systems and the relationships between deformation, fluid flow, alteration and mineralisation.
He is also an experienced educator and continues to contribute to postgraduate supervision at JCU and other universities.
