SEG 2025 Field Trip: World-class intrusion-related epithermal gold deposits of Northeast Queensland
September 23 - September 25

This 3-day pre-conference field trip will provide a hands-on introduction to the geology of Intrusion-Related and Epithermal gold deposits in the Charters Towers Province (North East Queensland, Australia), through a combination of field, mine and local museum visits. Participants will review mineralization and alteration characteristics of major Intrusion-related and Epithermal gold deposits that formed in response to a prolonged magmatic activity during the Paleozoic tectonic evolution of the eastern margin of Australia.
The trip will include visits to the Intrusion-Related Ravenswood and the Epithermal Pajingo gold deposits as well as to the museums in Charters Towers where the participants will learn about the rich history of a town built around gold exploration and mining.
The field trip is jointly organised by the Geological Survey of Queensland and EGRU.
Further information and registration details are included on the SEG 2025 Conference website.
